52 date night ideas, and a way to pick without the back-and-forth
Here are 52 date night ideas in six groups: staying in, going out, getting away, something new, small rituals and someday plans. If you can't agree on one, answer the list separately on OurMaybe. You each mark yes, maybe or no, and you only see the ideas you both want.

Why choosing is the hard part
Most couples don't lack ideas. They lack a way to choose that doesn't end in "I don't mind, you pick." One person suggests, the other is lukewarm, and the evening goes to the couch by default.
Answering separately fixes that. Nobody has to defend a suggestion, and nobody has to turn one down out loud. You end up with a short list that is already agreed.
Turn the list into a plan
- Each of you answers the 52 lines. About six minutes on your own phone.
- Read the overlap. Two yeses first. Those are your next four weekends.
- Put one on the calendar tonight. A date with a day attached happens. A date "sometime" doesn't.
- Keep the maybes. A maybe is often a yes with a condition: not in winter, not on a work night, not that restaurant.

Questions people ask
- What are good date night ideas at home?
- Cook a three-course dinner together with no phones, build a blanket fort and sleep in it, have a movie night where one of you picks without a veto, or spend a whole evening with every screen off. The list above has ten ideas for staying in.
- How often should couples have a date night?
- There is no rule. A standing evening once a week or every two weeks is easier to keep than a date that has to be arranged from scratch every time.
- How do we pick a date when we can't agree?
- Answer the list separately and only look at the ideas you both marked yes or maybe. It takes the negotiating out of it.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The Date Night list is free and needs no account.
