About
What OurMaybe is
OurMaybe is a couples app for comparing what two people want. Each person answers the same list in private with yes, maybe or no. The app shows the overlap, meaning the lines where neither said no, and never reveals what anyone turned down.

Why it exists
Most couples have things they would both like to do and have never mentioned, because bringing something up means risking a no. Asking both people separately removes that risk. If only one of you wants something, it simply never appears.
That idea is older than the web: therapists and sex educators have used paper yes/no/maybe lists for decades. OurMaybe keeps the list and removes the moment where you swap pages and see everything.
The iPhone app
An app is planned for couples who want to keep going: a shared space for the two of you, new lists over time, and a notification when your partner has answered. The lists on this site stay free.
Questions people ask
- What is OurMaybe?
- OurMaybe is a free web app for couples that compares what two people want. Each person answers the same list in private with yes, maybe or no, and the page only shows the lines where neither said no.
- Can my partner see what I said no to?
- No. A no is never shown, counted or hinted at. Only the overlap is visible, and it is the same for both of you.
- Do we need an account or an app?
- No. OurMaybe runs in the browser. One of you starts a list and sends a private link; the other answers through that link. If you want to keep going, you can pair up once in a shared space that holds every list, still without an account. An iPhone app is planned.
- What lists are there?
- Seven so far: Date Night, Getaways, Movie Night, Dinner for Two, Out & Active, Books & Culture, and After Dark. After Dark is for adults and has three levels with 24, 74 or 109 lines; the others have 36 to 52 lines each.
- What happens to our answers?
- They are stored encrypted with a secret that only exists in your link or in your two browsers, so nobody else can read them, including us. A single list is deleted after 30 days. A shared space stays until one of you deletes it, or until nobody has opened it for a year.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Every list on the site is free.
- Does it work long-distance or for same-sex couples?
- Yes to both. You answer on separate devices at separate times, and the lines are written without assuming anyone's gender.
